FAQ
Everything you might want to know before your appointment with us. From what to wear to what happens if you’re running late — we’ve covered the most common questions and the quiet worries too.
Depending on the appointment type you choose, appointments vary from 1 hour in our Loved outlet to 2 hours for a bride tribe appointment. Please see the appointment types by clicking here for all the available options.
You’re not alone – it’s completely normal to feel a little anxious. If you’re someone who feels particularly overwhelmed in busy environments, we wouldn’t recommend booking our Classic Bridal Appointment in the main fitting area, as it’s located in a more open part of the shop with some through-traffic and nearby facilities. We offer private suite appointments (both complimentary and paid options), and we’d love to help find the right fit for you. Just get in touch – we’ll work with you to create a calm, comfortable experience tailored to your needs.
Of course – we’re all mums here, so little ones are always welcome! Just keep in mind that appointments can be quite long, and children may get a bit restless. You might find the experience more enjoyable if you’re able to fully focus on finding your dream dress.
Sadly not — as much as we love furry guests, our boutique isn’t set up to accommodate them ( the only exception is assistance dogs).
As our boutique is in a beautiful old building, there are a few small steps throughout the space. However, we do have a wheelchair ramp available, and we’re more than happy to arrange your appointment in the most accessible area of the shop. Just get in touch before your visit and we’ll make sure everything is set up to make you as comfortable as possible.
You’re welcome to take photos, but we always recommend being present in the moment. Bridal samples rarely fit perfectly – they often need pinning and are usually too long – so capturing a flattering photo can be tricky. Over the years, we’ve seen how photos can sometimes cause doubt, especially when over-analysed afterwards. A dress that felt incredible in the moment might not translate well in a still image, while a great photo of a dress you didn’t connect with could leave you second-guessing.
If you’d like to look back at how a dress looked, a short video is usually a better option – it gives you a fuller picture of the fit and movement. But most importantly, trust the way you felt – that’s what truly matters when finding your dress.
Nude, seamless underwear is great, but just wear what you feel comfortable in and don’t go out and buy anything new. A strapless bra is optional, but not necessary — many gowns are designed to be worn without one.
Whatever feels most like you. You can always bring a clip or bobble if you’d like to try both.
Absolutely, we want you to feel like yourself when choosing your wedding dress whether that’s with or without makeup. So however you feel your best self.
You’re welcome to, especially if there’s a specific heel height you’d like to test — but it’s not essential.
Yes. Veils, jewellery, or anything sentimental is always welcome — and we have plenty in store to try too.
Everyone’s different – some brides prefer to bring just one or two close family members, while others love sharing the moment with a bigger group of loved ones. We offer a range of appointment types to suit you. Our Classic Bridal Appointment comfortably seats 2–3 guests plus the bride, while our Bride Tribe Cocktail Appointment can accommodate up to 8.
It’s all about what works best for you. If you feel easily overwhelmed, keeping your guest list small might help you stay focused and relaxed. If you thrive on energy and support from a larger group, one of our bigger appointment options may be perfect. Just be sure to bring people whose opinions you really trust – they’ll help make the experience even more special.
There are a few lovely local pubs , the cross roads, the narrowboat, the heart of England. There is also “the depot” close by which has a few coffee shops, yellow bourbon has great coffee and bagels.
If you’re a few minutes early, that’s absolutely fine! Come on in, make yourselves at home, and feel free to browse the rails. You’re more than welcome to touch the dresses, pull them out, and have a proper look – we want you to feel relaxed and comfortable from the moment you walk in.
If you arrive much earlier than your slot, there are some lovely local coffee shops and pubs nearby that are perfect for a little pre-appointment pit stop.
If we’re ever running a little behind (which can occasionally happen, especially on busy Saturdays), please bear with us – we’ll offer you a drink, let you browse, and be with you as soon as we can. We always make sure every bride gets their full appointment time, and we really appreciate your patienceWhat if I’m running late?
Give us a quick call — we’ll always try to adjust things while respecting the next bride’s appointment.
Absolutely! That’s exactly what we’re here for. Our stylists will guide you through the appointment and help you explore different styles – and be prepared to be surprised! Most brides end up falling in love with something they never expected to like, so being open-minded is actually the best place to start.
If you do have an idea of what you like, we’ll absolutely try that first, but we’ll also gently encourage you to try a few other styles too. We know the dresses inside out, and some that don’t stand out on the hanger can look incredible on the body.
You’ll start by choosing a few favourites to help us get a feel for your taste, but your appointment will naturally evolve from there. We’ll support and guide you every step of the way – our goal is to help you find the dress that makes you feel truly amazing. It’s what we love, and what we’ve helped so many brides do over the years.
Yes — for outlet dresses we do a discounted rate. We can also offer a dry cleaning service after your wedding. Just ask if you’d like us to arrange.
We carry a beautiful range of sample sizes in store, from around a size 8 up to a size 30. All of our gowns can be ordered in sizes 4 to 36, so there’s plenty of flexibility.
We know many brides worry about not being able to try anything on – but please don’t. We have a fantastic selection of styles from size 18 upwards, so you’ll be able to get a great feel for how the dresses look and fit. You have nothing to worry about – we’d love to welcome you in and help you find your dream dress.
We offer a range of appointments to suit different needs and experiences. Think about how many guests you’d like to bring, and whether you’d prefer a relaxed dress shopping appointment or something with a little added luxury – like cocktails or a bottle of Prosecco.
We have appointments for both intimate groups and larger parties, with complimentary options as well as those with special extras. You can view all the different types on our website.
We also have our sister store, Loved Outlet Bridal, right next door, with beautiful dresses starting from £500. Our main store gowns begin at £1,200. If you’d like to browse both stores during your visit, that’s absolutely possible – just book your main store appointment and drop us a message to let us know you’d like to include the outlet too. We’ll take care of the rest.
We don’t have our own car park, but there’s convenient parking just opposite the shop at The Village Car Park, located at the Heart of England pub. There’s also on-street parking available right outside the store.
Please avoid parking behind the shop in the Antiques Centre or at Tesco, as both have strict parking enforcement and you may risk being clamped. If you’re unsure, feel free to give us a call before your appointment and we’ll happily guide you.
It's never too early to start looking for your dress! Our best advice is that once you start shopping, do so with the intention of finding "the one." If you try on dresses over a long period of time, the novelty can wear off and it can take away some of the magic. So the best time to start is when you feel ready to say *yes* if you fall in love with a dress.
Dresses typically take six to nine months to arrive once ordered, but don't worry if your wedding is sooner - we have plenty of dresses that can arrive quicker and a great selection available to buy off-the-peg too.
Yes, we always recommend booking an appointment. This allows us to dedicate one-on-one time to you and make your experience truly special. If you pop in without one, we may be with other brides and wouldn't want you to miss out on the full Serendipity experience.
We offer a range of appointment types to suit your needs:
- Classic Bridal Appointment: 1.5 hours
- Outlet Appointment (Loved Outlet): 1 hour
- Private Suite Appointment: 2 hours
- Bridal Soirée & Charcuterie Appointments (Weekdays only): 2 hours and a little more flexible with time if no one is booked in after you
Weekends are our busiest times, so we do have to stick to the timings more closely then. During the week, there's often more flexibility and extra time to relax and enjoy the experience.
Nothing special is needed - just come feeling comfortable! If you'd like to bring heels, feel free, but it's not essential. We have a plinth you can stand on to help visualise the dress length. Nudeunderwear can be helpful, but there's no requirement for any particular type of underwear.
It's so important to bring the people who matter most to you - those whose opinions you value and trust. Wedding dress shopping is a special and emotional experience, so choose guests who will support and celebrate you.
Different appointment types cater to different group sizes:
- Classic Bridal Appointments allow up to 4 people (including the bride)
- Other appointment types allow for 5, 6, or even 8 guests
Check our appointment guide to find the best fit for your party size.
We stock a wide range of sample sizes from UK 8 to UK 30. Most of our dresses are made to order, and many designers can accommodate sizes outside that range too.
Please don't worry - we've got you covered.
Nearly all wedding dresses will need some alterations, even when made to order, to ensure the perfect fit.
